Dionne was a straight forward no nonsense person, in 2009 DD was told she had cancer of her liver now in January of that year DD was admitted to Hospital for a series of tests to be carried out over a period of 5 Days now she was not informed at this early stage of diagnosis what the severity of the liver cancer was, Unbeknownst to Dionne the Hospital had arranged for some Counselling Volunteers to visit with her to advise her on what benefits & help was available to her, they came in sat down by her bed at about 11:00 in the morning now Dionne was looking at the two strangers sitting by her bed & thinking to her self who the hell are you, they quickly introduced them self's & one of the volunteers said to DD in quite caring voice, "could you tell us how long have you got left", she was a little puzzled by the question & simply replied "I have 3 days left, they said it would only take about 5 days altogether", Now Dionne was assuming they Knew she was here for tests only, Unfortunately they assumed Dionne had very little time left, now when the volunteers tried to say what they meant, Well all hell broke loose Dionne was demanding to know what they knew that she didn't. The nursing staff calmed Dionne down & the Doctors did explain that the cancer at this time was not life threatening & the volunteers were asked to make a hasty retreat expressing there sincere apologies as they went, Now I am her Husband & she told me this story on the following night when i visited her, now it sounded quite funny when she told me, and after all it was just a simple misunderstanding and a lack of communication, BUT the point i am making about DD is she saw things straight forward and simply with no messing, such a wonderfull Lady, Greatly Missed till the end of time, LOVE YOU MY DD XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX x.
